A really good news for Canadian AmEx SPG cardholders. You can earn 2 Starpoints for every dollar of eligible purchases charged to the Card at participating SPG & Marriott Rewards hotels from November 15, 2016 through November 15, 2017. You can still earn 1 Starpoint for every $1 in all other purchases charged to the Card.
At the same time, Chase Marriott Visa cardholders can also enjoy the similar benefits. Beginning on December 1, 2016, use your Marriott Rewards Premier Visa Credit Card, you can earn five Marriott Rewards points for dollar spent at participating SPG hotels, just like you do at participating Marriott hotels.
I have both cards, and I will use AmEx SPG in Canada and use Chase Marriott Visa outside of Canada.
