As you know that Air Canada Aeroplan members can earn 25K elite status by accumulating 100,000 EDQ (Everyday Status Qualification) points within a calendar year. If you are still a base Aeroplan member, you may see an EDQ progress bar in your account that shows how far you are from reaching the threshold.
What’s important to understand is that the EDQ progress bar is mainly there to help non-status members work toward 25K. Once you reach 25K or a higher elite tier, that progress bar is replaced by the elite status tracker and no longer appears on your account page. In other words, Air Canada seems to prefer encouraging existing elite members to requalify using SQC instead. However, EDQ still continues to count in the background. Even if the progress bar is hidden, your EDQ earnings are still being tracked accurately by the system, and once you reach 100,000 EDQ in a year through spending or card activity, Aeroplan will still automatically renew your 25K status or upgrade you if applicable.
So how can you check your EDQ progress once the EDQ bar is no longer visible? A helpful Reddit post from about a year ago shared a simple workaround. Special thanks to the user “RTravelled” for the tip. I tried the method in my own account and was able to retrieve my EDQ information successfully. The whole process can be done using a regular web browser:
1) Log in to your Air Canada account on a computer, then click "My Aeroplan" and select "Activity".
2) Click "Filters" and choose a date range that includes January 1 of the current year. For example, if you are checking in late June, selecting "6 months" is enough. If you are checking in late October, choose "1 year". Then click "Close".
3) Scroll to the bottom of the page and keep clicking "Load more" until you reach the earliest transaction of the year.
4) Highlight everything from the earliest transaction to the latest one, then right-click and choose "Copy".
5) Open any AI tool, such as ChatGPT or another free option. I personally used Google Search’s AI Mode and typed: "Please tell me the total EDQ:" Then I pasted the copied Aeroplan page content and hit "Send".
6) The AI will then calculate your total EDQ from the beginning of the year to the present. In my case, Google also provided a month-by-month breakdown of the EDQ transactions.
Hopefully, this trick helps other Aeroplan members keep track of their EDQ even after the progress bar disappears.
