Rogers Red World Elite MasterCard Review

Updated on Aug 29, 2026: Starting November 18, 2026, the Rogers Red World Elite MasterCard terms will undergo major changes:
  • Elimination of the 1.5x cash-back redemption value on "eligible Rogers purchases." (No more effortless 3% cash back).
  • Earn 5% cash back on "eligible Rogers purchases."
  • Removal of the 5-day "Roam Like Home" benefit. It changes to an annual "Roaming Credit" for eligible Rogers mobile roaming services. (Worth $75 per calendar year, effective January 12, 2027).
  • Updated travel insurance benefits (effective November 18, 2026). Out-of-province medical coverage for those under 64 increases from 10 to 15 days. Trip Cancellation, Trip Interruption, and Trip Delay coverages are canceled. Rental car insurance terms are adjusted.
Honestly, the insurance changes are minor since I never use this card for travel insurance anyway. However, losing that 1.5x redemption bonus is definitely bad news.

If you're already a Rogers, Fido, Shaw or Comwave eligible customer, the Rogers Red World Elite MasterCard isn't just a good credit card — it's essentially a no-brainer addition to your wallet.

United MileagePlus Neo World Elite MasterCard: 25,000 miles + $100 Finly Rebate

Updated on Jun 11, 2026: The 5,000 mile bonus for the first purchase on this card, as well as the additional 5,000 miles from the waitlist bonus, have already been credited. In addition, the bonus from applying through the FinlyWealth link was posted the day after the card was approved, which shows that the waitlist offer and the FinlyWealth rabate are stackable. BTW, United MileagePlus miles shown in your Neo account are automatically transferred to the linked United account at the end of each calendar month.

Deal Link: https://www.finlywealth.com/rebates/credit-cards/united-mileage-plus-neo-world-elite?ref=4kl1

If you apply for this card through our FinlyWealth link above, you’ll receive an extra $100 bonus on top of the card’s standard welcome offer. Note: Both the standard welcome offer and $100 Finly Rebate are only valid for eligible new cardholders (existing Neo clients can still qualify, but they must be "new" to this credit card itself, not to Neo as a whole).

BTW, if you don’t currently have any Neo Financial products and want to apply for the United MileagePlus Neo WEMC card, I recommends opening a Neo Savings Account first and then applying for this United MileagePlus Neo WEMC. The order matters: if you open the Neo Savings Account first and then apply for the card, you can receive bonuses from both offers. However, if you apply for the United MileagePlus Neo WEMC first, you may no longer be eligible for the Neo Savings Account welcome bonus.

United Airlines and Neo Financial announced plans to launch Canada’s first-ever co-branded United credit card in Feb 2026. Now the wait is over: the United MileagePlus Neo World Elite MasterCard has officially arrived and is open for applications.

As the first United MileagePlus co-branded credit card in Canada, the obvious question is: is it worth getting? Today, we’re taking a closer look.

Wealthsimple Visa Credit Card Review

Wealthsimple just launched a new Visa credit card (currently in beta testing) — no annual fee. The card comes in different colors, and you can choose your favorite design. It offers 1% cash back on all purchases, with no mobile tap limit. Cardholders can pick any 3 benefits from the following 8 options:

This is a really flexible approach — pick 3 out of 8, kind of like the Tangier Money-Back card vibe (I assume you can adjust your selected benefits under certain conditions). My suggestion is to check what insurance and perks your other credit cards already provide, then strategically choose the ones that fill the gaps with this card.

My take: If you're not already a Wealthsimple Premium or Generation user, this card is worth considering. Among all no-annual-fee credit cards, it's pretty solid and has a unique twist.

But, the two annual complementary passes will no longer be provided with this membership.

BMO Cash Back WEMC: New and Improved Cash Back Rewards

BMO Cash Back WEMC will introduce a new and improved cash back rewards. Starting in May 2021, and applying to all purchases that appear on June 2021 statements, CashBack Rewards earned on BMO CashBack World Elite Mastercard purchases will change from 1.5% cash back on all purchases to:

  • 5% cash back on eligible grocery purchases, up to a maximum of $500 spent for each statement cycle
  • 4% cash back on eligible transit purchases, up to a maximum of $300 spent for each statement cycle
  • 3% cash back on eligible gas purchases, up to a maximum of $300 spent for each statement cycle

Once you spend up to the maximum for groceries, transit, gas or recurring bill payments for your statement period, you’ll keep earning 1% cash back on eligible purchases in those categories.

The changes will happen in May 2021 which means all purchases that appear on and before May statements will continue to earn 1.5% cash back. Exactly when the changes take effect will depend on individual statement dates, which can be found (in bold) in the top right corner of your statement. CashBack Rewards will change the day after your statement date (so, a statement date of May 4th, 2021 means your CashBack Rewards will change on May 5th, 2021).

Plus, cardholders can continue to get exclusive benefits like all kinds of insurances and BMO Roadside Assistance program.

From my point of view, this is really a good news for all current and future BMO Cash Back WEMC cardholders.

CIBC will enhance their Dividend Platinum Visa and Visa Infinite Cards

CIBC will enhance their Dividend Platinum Visa and Infinite Visa Credit Cards on Feb 1, 2021.

For CIBC Dividend Platinum Visa Card:

For CIBC Dividend Visa Infinite Card:

BTW, if you have an eligible CIBC Smart Plus Account after February 1, 2021, you'll get a rebate on the $99 annual fee for Dividend Platinum or the new annual fee of $120 for Dividend Visa Infinite.

As far as I am concerned, I like the new version of the CIBC Dividend Visa Infinite Card. The new 2% cash back categories are better than Tim Hortons & Telus. The new Cash Back On Demand feature is flexible. The new Mobile Device Insurance is very useful. I don't use those travel insurances on this Visa Infinite card anyway.
