The special interest rate of 3.15% is a combination of promotional and regular annual interest that is calculated on a savings account, as described below, between November 1, 2018 and February 28, 2019. Savings accounts will continue to earn regular interest on balances, calculated daily and paid monthly. Promotional interest for Non-Registered Savings Accounts is calculated on the portion of a Non-Registered Savings Account’s average daily closing balance during the offer period that exceeds the closing balance as at October 31, 2018, to a maximum of $500,000 across all primary account holder’s Non-Registered Savings Accounts. Promotional interest for Registered Savings Accounts is calculated on the portion of a Registered Savings Account’s average daily closing balance during the offer period that exceeds the closing balance as at October 31, 2018, to a maximum of $500,000 across all primary account holder’s Registered Savings Accounts. Promotional interest for certain savings accounts will not be paid on existing funds held in other Simplii Financial accounts on October 31, 2018 and transferred to a savings account.
