You can buy Starpoints for yourself or as a gift, now through December 31, 2016, and get up to 50% off the regular price. Minimum purchase of 5,000 Starpoints required. Each SPG member may have his/her own discount, 25% off, 30% off, 35% off or 50% off.
Unfortunately, I only get a discount of 25% off. But if you can receive a 50% off, that is a pretty good deal and it is SPG's highest discount yet. If you want, you can also convert SPG points to Marriott Points with the 1:3 ratio.
